This event is co-hosted by Alexander James Holloway of the New Zealand Stage & Screen Combat School & Scott Witt from Combat Circus.
WHAT:
The Southern Cross is a weeklong immersive symposium. The symposium offers focused tuition in the combative arts including slapstick for stage and screen.
The Southern Cross is open to anyone with an interest in these arts wishing to expand their knowledge base without the pressure of exams.
CONTENT:
This year the Scott will be offering:
1. Detailed pedagogical enquiry surrounding concepts in learning and remembering choreography.
2. In depth exploration in slapstick stunts and prop manipulation.
While Alexander will be sharing research in:
1. Rifle drill and trench warfare.
2. Introduction to Smallsword.
This symposium is designed for beginners to advance level also for persons on a journey to become an instructor and or fight director. All content is designed for stage and film. Participants of Internationally recognised Societies and or groups are more than welcome.

The 2019 Southern Cross Symposium will run from July 8th to July 12th.
WHERE:
The workshop will be held at the Auckland Academy of Dance Unit L 44A Portage Rd, Auckland, New Zealand
COST:
Early bird price of $540 ($510 AUD) Cut off for Early Bird is May 31st. Full Price is $590 ($560 AUD). A $100 (NZD or AUD) non-refundable deposit secures a place at the symposium. You will receive funds transfer information upon receipt of deposit. Outstanding balances to be paid by one week prior to commencement of the workshop.
